SGDV Vistitle Tutorial

This comprehensive Vistitle tutorial is made by Jerry Hatfield  of  SGDV and consists of 3 main sections:

♦   The desktop tutorials - a series of lessons to get you familiar with the basics of the program
♦   The plug-in tutorials - A set of 9 tutorials covering the various plug-ins available with VisTitle
♦   The "how to" tutorials - a series of 6 tutorials on how to make certain types of title from scratch.

One of the latter tutorials is available for free from the SGDV website. This free tutorial is about 26 minutes long an describes how to take a couple of images and turn them into a 3D coin, with animation inside of VisTitle using the 2D to 3D plug-in.

You can read more and see the sample tutorial on the SGDV website:http://sgdvtutorials.com/

How does the tutorial work?

The tutorial consists of several movies which cover a variety of different topics.  Each movie is stored as an MP4 file and should play in media player on your computer.  The tutorial menu will guide you to which video clip you would like to watch and explain the differences between them.  Once you have chosen the clip you want to watch you simply click on the link and the clip opens in Media player which you can resize and move wherever you want.  The menu interface will completely take over the main screen but it is easy to move it to a second screen if you prefer.  Details on how to do this are all supplied with the tutorial or you can just ask us at DVC.

Tutorial Quality

One of the reasons the tutorial has been made in this way is so that the clips can be supplied at the best quality possible.  All the movies are full 1920x1080 HD and encoded to make sure the picture is the best achievable.  There are also 1280x720 HD MP4 files on the pen which you could transfer to a tablet and watch on that while using VisTitle on your main computer.  The menu system of the tutorial will not work on a tablet but the movie clips will.

Where can you copy the tutorial files?

When you buy this tutorial you are allowed to copy the files to your pc and also to a tablet as mentioned.  However, they are for your use ONLY.  Please do not distribute them or upload them to any websites such as YouTube.  Please do not distribute copies of the tutorial to friends.  You will be breaking the licence agreement in doing so. A lot of work has gone into creating the tutorials and unless people buy them instead of stealing them through illegal copying there will not be any more tutorials in the future.

VisTitle for Premiere Pro and Avid

VisTitle works in EDIUS 5 or above, Premiere Pro CS6 and later and Avid Media Composer 6 and later.  These tutorials mainly concentrate on what happens in VisTitle itself, rather than how it works in different editing programs.  The only real difference using VisTitle in Premiere or Avid, compared to EDIUS which was the program used when making this tutorial, is how you get into the interface and how you use the template library and copy titles.  Jerry Hatfield, the maker of this tutorial is making some short explanations of how to use VisTitle in Premiere and Avid which will be free on the SGDV website.  You will be able to see these tutorials, which are currently being compiled here: http://sgdvtutorials.com/index-3.html

Technical requirements

The tutorial is comprised of several MP4 files encoded at 1920x1080 HD.  If your computer can cope with playing HD MP4 files, which any fairly modern PC should be able to do, then it will play the tutorials files. If you are concerned please download the sample lesson from the SGDV website to see how well it plays.  You can download the sample here: http://sgdvtutorials.com/index-3.html

The menu requires a screen resolution of 1280x1024 or higher.   The menu will not run on lower resolution screens.  You do not need the menu to access the tutorials as they are accessible as individual files on the USB PEN.  There is a possible solution if you want to run the menu on a lower screen resolution.  Please contact us or Jerry at SGDV for more information.

The USB pen contains two versions of the lessons.  The main version is 1920x1080, but it also contains some clips at 1280x720.  These are intended for use on a mobile device - a tablet or phone for example.  Simply copy these files to your tablet and play them in your regular media player.  We have not tested every device but they do work on a Windows phone and an android tablet.
